the devil’s own time in overcoming her inhibitions, hesitation, and her family’s orthodox and outdated
rules before recognising her love for Gautam.
Will Gautam be able to solve
Sangita’s Dilemma or will she be forever trapped in her past?

Spotlight :Matches made in Heaven by Sundari Venkatraman
Matches
Made In Heaven
by
Sundari
Venkatraman
Sneak Peek
A collection of 13 romantic short
stories based in India; a culture rich country steeped in tradition. Inspiration struck me from newspaper
articles, TV shows and hearing people talk. The short stories are based on that fact that arranged
marriages thrive right alongside love matches in India.
1. Groomnapped is Ameya-Surekha’s story as a light romantic take on the serious issue of groom kidnappings.
2. Dark skin on a woman puts off men in general or so says the society. Beauty Is But Skin Deep is Nitin-Simran’s story that proves it wrong!
3. Ritu is twenty-five and wants to wait for her Prince Charming but her parents are desperate to arrange her wedding. Does she find her prince in An Arranged Match?
4. Dating Agencies are doing their best to get young people together to tie the knot. My friend Diti runs an informal one; inspiring the Red Rose Dating Agency.
5. A guy’s complaint about his fiancée of a few years dumping him after becoming successful in her film career felt like a rant to me. Chahti Hoon Tumhe is an ode to the successful actress.
6. Soumya actually lives life like Soul Mates but how many have the guts to? This, incidentally, is the first short story that I ever wrote.
7. Does Madeinheaven.com help bring Menka & Jeetu together with technology driven Matchmaking website?
8. I originally wrote Rahat Mili for an anthology; Rahat means ‘relief’ and is a name too. Read the story with the word in mind and it will fall in place.
9. Reema’s Matchmakers brings Arjun and Prisha together at a get-together through a matchmaking network. But will they get married?
10. Nikita wants Krish for a friend and not her husband. As The Reluctant Bride she manages to have her cake and eat it too.
11. Shweta Ka Swayamvar is inspired by the practice of Swayamwar in ancient India of choosing a husband, from among a list of suitors, by a girl of marriageable age.
12. Pappa’s Girl is about daughters of Industrialists taking over fathers’ businesses.
13. Mythology romances intrigue me; Love Match For Velan is my take on Lord Murugan falling in love with his consort Valli.

Ramayana :The Game of Life - Shattered Dreams.
This review is a part of the biggest Book Review Program for Indian Bloggers. Participate now to get free books!
This is the second book in the series of books titled "Ramayana :The Game of Life " .The cover illustration is by Kunal Kundu. It shows a person of noble lineage having disturbed sleep. There is an elderly noble with white hair in a chariot driven by two jackasses.A woman with disheveled hair & a scary face seems to be the charioteer. This vision of the elderly noble who is afraid of being in the chariot driven by the female saarathi seems to have disturbed the sleep of the young noble.
This book 2 of "Ramayana :The Game of Life " starts with the coronation preparations of Rama as the king of Ayodhya. And before it can take place, hell has broken loose .Kaikeyi ,the favourite queen of Dasaratha has demanded that her boons be granted. After all ,she has the kings word for her boons.Does the king give in ? Rama has to go on exile into the forest. He is not alone.Who goes with him & why ? The people of Ayodhya are heartbroken . They follow their prince & the prince gives them the slip too soon. Why does Rama slip away from his own people ?
Back in Ayodhya, nothing is the same.Dasaratha is lamenting his misfortune. Finally,he passes away.Bharata,Kaikeyi's son is summoned to perform his father's last rites.Bharata is shocked that his mother could stoop so low.He & Shatrughna along with an entourage proceed to the forest to request Rama to come back.Does Rama return to Ayodhya ?.Bharata brings padukas of Rama to Ayodhya . What is the purpose behind this action of Bharata ? The book ends when Rama ,Sita & Lakshman are shifting base from Chitrakoot to Dandakaranya. Why do they leave the picturesque Chitrakoot ?
We all know Ramayana.Yet ,this book makes it very interesting.I always thought that Rama went into exile soon after he got married. This book tells that it was not so.Dasaratha was the name given to King Nemi by the demi gods. Why & how did Nemi earn the name Dasaratha is quite a story in itself. The book also lists management mantras of Rama which he imparts to Bharata to rule Ayodhya. This is in line with modern management practice. This book makes the reader aware of many related & other small relevant tales like that of chaste Anasuya .This makes it very readable.
The publisher is Jaico Publishing house. The book is of 387 pages with 9 chapters. There is an author's note wherein the author opines that Ramayana can answer many of our day to day problems with simple yet effective solutions. The author is Shubha Vilas is with ISKCON .He is a motivational speaker .He is well read with a degree in Engineering as also law .
This book is a good read for a fresh understanding of the epic, in the light of modern times.

Book Review :Wrong for the Right reasons .
Shyamoli Verma is back home as she has filed for divorce. She is unwelcome & so are her kids,Samar & Ketaki.Shyamoli's mom hates her for letting them down for walking out of her matrimonial home.Shyamoli's dad cannot express his love & admiration for her daughter under the watchful eyes of his wife .Though Shyamoli stays in another house owned by her parents, her mom's interference is phenomenal.
Amongst all this ,Shyamoli finds time to bake cakes, breads & cokies.Slowly she starts getting orders. Her creams & lotions which she made for her Ketaki's ultra sensitive skin has many takers as well. Her classmate Uma & his boyfriend take upon themselves to get orders for her creams .
Shyamoli expands her baking business without any help from the start up man Subodh Mishra. He regrets his decision & becomes her friend for life.Meantime ,her dad dies of stroke. Her brother comes to pay last respects. And her mom almost throws her out. Will Shyamoli have to leave everything she built up so painstakingly because she has no one who cares ? What about Samar & Ketaki ? Does her divorce with her hubby Manav come through finally ? Is Uma really her friend ?And Subodh Mishra is more than just a good friend ?
The book has its dose of humour.Shyamoli muses ,"Giving up cigarettes is overrated,One dies anyway ."Perhaps, one of the best smoking gig . Shyamoli's brother gifting her because she looked after their parents & let him free. Shyamoli's mother treats her daughter as if she is her bahu is a throwback on the saas bahu saga.
The baking description & the baked goodies named in the book is too much to resist.Shyamoli is a woman who despite her problems never lets others down.A woman empowering read .So many of us will find our thoughts echoed in this book.

The Story Told
In Pictures
Ritu Lalit is a corporate slave turned fiction writer. A voracious reader, she is a gold medalist
post graduate in English Literature who spent most of her childhood in remote areas in the northeastern
parts of India, lying on grassy hillsides daydreaming and reading books.
She loves spinning tales, but no longer has her captive audience as her children grew up and flew away from the coop. Her three dogs don’t pay much attention. She began writing in the vain hope that the characters she creates will listen to her, even do her bidding.
She has five books out in the market, A Bowlful of Butterflies, HILAWI, Chakra, Chronicles of the Witch Way and Wrong, for the Right Reasons. Her fifth novel, His Father’s Mistress is coming soon.
