Deepavali border rangolis.

These are the border rangolis ,I made on my doorstep during Deepavali.I know, the colours are very pastel .I have got darker rangolis...in which glitter , colour & rangoli has been mixed.So hope for better coloured rangolis in the next Deepavali !

These are rangolis drawn when I had just started to photograph my rangolis.You can observe that they are hazy & blurred. I would like to believe that my snapping skills were lacking.

I have experimented with a circular pattern.The one on the right is a bird ( maybe a peacock ) with its plumage spread out.You can observe the beak & eye at the centre of the pattern.

All my rangoli patterns are free hand.I have been unable to learn the dot pattern based rangolis.

These are patterns wherein the base is a triangle or a trikon.

The base is a modified square -sides are  arched .Then a pattern is woven around in both the cases.

I have tried to draw the swastika as a base & then woven a design around.

Again,I have drawn a star & then a design around it.

I have tried to draw a sitara in the centre in a different manner but it has not come out the way it does on paper.

The base is a trikon -a triangle & then patterns are drawn on it-inside as also surrounding the same.

I have taken the basic design as a circle or rather the circular form & then developed it.

My patterns should be so easy that all can draw them.Moreover,they should be open ended-so that,they can be embellished further & made bigger & more intricate.

I have drawn similar rangolis with only some changes.

The one on the left is asymmetrical for lack of space & more horizontal.The one on the right is like a square & more in symmetry.
