Raangolya.

I have experimented with a circular pattern.The one on the right is a bird ( maybe a peacock ) with its plumage spread out.You can observe the beak & eye at the centre of the pattern.

The base is a modified square -sides are  arched .Then a pattern is woven around in both the cases.

I have drawn a pentagon & then a pattern.The mistakes are very clear.

The left  rangoli at the 2 sides looks like the deity of the Jagannath Puri temple.

Today the base is a pentagon .In one case,pattern is more on  inside & in the other it is the reverse.
